$ Coming to America: What are the Meaning of Conditions in this Age? $
I just got an email stating that TM is coming to America (Hawaii) next month to meet with Korean, Japanese, and American leedahs, and we should welcome her. Okay, understandable, but the announcement, from Bishop Kim and President Balcomb, went one step further. It said that all membahs should make a donation on the occasion with the amount being "up to us," but in the next sentence it recommended ($100.00). Huh?
The enthusiastic announcement said we could participate in "many good conditions" this way. Couldn't our hearts just be filled to overflowing with joy that one of the TP is visiting Hawaii and meeting with our leedahs? Why does money have to be a part of this visit, and seemingly every other one, as if they are selling wish papers at CP? It even costs money to remember anniversaries years old. Couldn't we all just sign a card or something, or even buy a personal gift. Anonymous cash is so gauche, don't you think?
Please honestly share your heart on this matter. Hopefully, Dan Fefferman will report in with the Old Testament perspective.
